16U Girls Place 5th In Trenton

It was an early morning for most of the girls, driving down to Trenton. Although we were driving from different parts of Ottawa, most girls arrived at the same time. Everyone was in good spirits and ready to tackle whatever challenges the day (or the 17Us G) would bring on.

As a result of the long early drive, the girls struggled through the first set of the day against Pegasus. The second set showed to be the same, but the girls had an amazing comeback, but it wasn’t quite enough to ensure a win.

The girls showed tremendous teamwork and brought the next 3 games to a tiebreaker set. They wouldn’t let foul calls from a lines keeper put a damper on their game. They kept at it and showed the spectators excellent volleyball with ongoing ralleys.

The team came in 5th out of 9 teams. All in all, the girls played very well and all parents present were very proud of their athletes’ performance. Well done girls!

This was only a warm-up for the 16U Girls Provincial Cup, which will be held in Windsor at the end of the month. We are confident our girls will perform at their best.
