Commitment for Competitive Teams

Practices

Competitive teams will practice 2 to 3 times per week depending on the time of year and coaches preferance. Practices are 2 hours in length and will consist mainly of skill development and team play in preparation for tournaments.

Training

On top of practices, teams will be expected to do physical training throughout the season. This will be scaled back during high school volleyball season and the end of season competitive phase.

RAD Sessions

All Competitive teams will be participating in the R.A.D. Program. Throughout the season instructors for Sport Nutrition, Sport Psychology and Technical Training will attend your practice sessions (some before, some after a practice). These sessions are designed by sporting experts to help you reach your peak potential during the season and throught your career as a ROO Volleyball athlete.

Tournaments

Competitive teams compete in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) Youth tournaments. The schedule is set by the OVA and tournaments are run throughout Ontario, thus involving travel for our competitive teams. Coaches may also include other tournaments in their teams schedule. (Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic, Western Canada for a National Championship or the USA)

Uniform

Each member of a competitive team will be given a uniform consisting of 2 Jersey's (of which they will keep one and return one to the club at the end of the season), 2 practice shirts, and 1 pair of shorts or spandex. Athletes will also be able to order additional uniforms, ROO Wear.
